Emma's 4th Birthday

June 22nd, 2005 at 6:00pm, my sweet little Emma came into this world and made Josh and me parents. It's hard to believe that 4 years has gone by already. This year we didn't do a big party, we just had both grandmas come over, as well as Melanie and Carter, who live just right down the street. Emma got all the presents she had hoped for and more. She finished off her princess doll collection by adding Jasmine, Mulan and a Barbie doll because she's into her now as well. My favorite gift that she got was a surprise gift from her dad. It was a surprise to me as well. Josh takes out a certain amount of cash each week for meals, snacks, etc... and unbeknown to me had been putting some to the side the last month so he could get her a gift without me knowing( since I'm obsessed with checking our bank accounts online). I was surprised by the gift, but not by the act because Josh can do some really sweet things sometimes. Well anyways Emma loved her surprise gift that she got at the end, a big girl princess bike. There really couldn't be a more girly bike, good job Josh! Emma got on it and rode it right away with no help needed. We had a really fun and relaxing evening. Emma got the pink princess birthday cake she's been talking about since Christmas. She even ate 2 slices of it, which for her is really good since she's not too big on sweets. She told me today she will be thinking about what she wants for next years cake.

Jacob thought it would be fun to get naked and go in the pool. Carter thought that was a great idea and did the same. Jacob would slide down into the little pool and several times landed on his back and went completely under the water. That of course didn't scare him as he did it over and over again. That's my boy!

Emma's dance recital

Emma has been taking pre-ballet class for almost a year now. She absolutely loves it too! She loves dressing up, dancing and being on stage most of all. Who would have known? She had her 2nd dance recital last night, and the theme was princesses and she was dressed as Cinderella. Emma isn't usually cooperative with pictures, but when dressed up she makes an exception. She did an awesome job last night, especially considering it was her bedtime when her class went on. At this age it's really all about just dressing up and looking cute on stage. If they get a few twirls in then it's a bonus. Here's the video, enjoy (or at least pretend to enjoy it as Josh did last night sitting through 2 hours of dance)!
